Women of Algiers
$15.00 – $90.00
Artists have a tendency to look deeply in to the works of other artists. Realizing that ‘interpretations’ vary based upon the artist’s reality at the moment, it was very important to me for my readers to understand what I am trying to convey in my version: Women of Algiers.
The role of women has drastically changed since Delacroix and later Picasso created their separate Women of Algiers painting’s. In my current version, women are no longer confined to the floor…in any respect!! It was critically important to me that in 2016 none of the women were on the floor. The concept of a woman as a serving agent for men, in the modern world, is not todays’ reality.
New version has lots of meaning the E=Mc2 upside down – the world has flipped. The equal or greater than symbols, the mathematical abstract on the chalkboard from “Engines of Liberation”. Laying on top of Picasso and Delacroix – The new version is 200 years of women suffrage, slowly coming to an end.
Museum-quality posters made on thick, durable, matte paper.
